I’ve been getting a lot of emails from people about my previous entries about the HCG DietIf you go back into my blog archive to August 2008, you’ll find an entry entitled “What is the HCG Diet?“.

This blog entry outlined an excellent and fairly drastic diet called the HCG Diet that I started to do.  I had reached my limit when my weight got to 275lbs, now I know at 6 foot 4 inches tall that it doesn’t always appear that I am seriously overweight, but I know that I am.

I have to say that over the 42 day cycle of the diet, it was amazing, I not only lost 41 pounds, I was feeling great!  I had finished Phase 2 of the diet and was entrering into Phase 3 and everything was going great.  Then unfortunately, I broke my ankle when Heidi (my wife) and I were out hiking one day at Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas.  This put a real dampener on things and unfortunately, I couldn’t do the exercise that I needed to do every day.

Now, after months of traveling, going to events, and speaking with clients, I’ve been gaining weight at a slow but steady pace and now, I’m back to about the exact weight that I was when I started the diet.  So, now, back at 270 lbs, I’ve decided that I am just going to have to do a better job of managing what I’m eating, especially when I’m traveling.

If anyone has any suggestions for me that I can implement while I’m on the road, please feel free to put your comments below.

Here is the information that I promised about what the HCG Diet is all about:

To start off, this diet protocol is based on research that was conducted in Europe in the 1950’s by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons, M.D. into obesity and its cures.  To get the detailsyou can pick up Kevin Trudeau’s book The Weight Loss Cure, it is from 2007 and I would recommend getting it from the library or on eBay, since you won’t need to refer to it once you get going on the program.

There are 3 stages to the diet, and I am going to be sharing the modified version that the doctor that I went to recommends.  This is a little less extreme than Kevin’s program, and I think will be easier to follow.

Stage 1

Stage One is highly recommended, however it is not required for your success in the program.  This stage will take about 30 days, and can be adjusted shorter or longer to fit your lifestyle.  If you decide to Read the rest of this entry »

For those of you who know me personally, I am not a small person by any means.  For most of my life I have been extra large, this isn’t to say that I am obese, I am just a very BIG person.  At 6 foot 4 inches tall and with a weight that has fluctuated from 230 at my slimest all the way up to pushing close to 300 pounds, I am a big guy.

The reason that I mention this is that over the last decade (my 30’s), it became harder and harder for me to maintain an acceptable weight in my eyes.  For me, it has become a personal issue, mostly because I know all the research and information, I’ve read most of the books, listened to the lectures, and talked to the experts.  I’m positive that if I watched what I ate and exercised on a regular basis, my weight would be easily controlled.
